The Davosa Argonautic is a great looking modern diver with looks that stand out thanks to its bold dial, high-tech Beyond Steel® bezel, and rugged case. This new version also features state-of-the-art Super-LumiNova BGW9 luminous material which has exceptional luminous properties.

DAVOSA’s close ties to the international diving scene led to the collaboration with the marine conservationists at Coral Guardian which specialises internationally in the preservation and rebuilding of endangered underwater eco-systems through the reintroduction of corals. The first joint project followed: the Argonautic Coral.

The striking, bright orange and turquoise blue dials of this professional diving watch are reminiscent of fluorescent corals.

Revenues from this project go directly to the NGO Coral Guardian and support the restoration of the coral reef on Hatamin Island in Indonesia.

Coral Guardian has been sharing the knowledge and experience it has gained from active marine protection in its training programme, Blue Center, for many years. One of the organisation’s principal aims is to train more people to implement their own local projects around the world.

The technique: coral fragments are attached to a solid metal structure. The corals that attach to this new substrate grow and the reef comes back to life. Each coral element is collected locally.

The Argonautic's case has a diameter of 43mm and is made of 316L stainless steel with a satin-brushed finish. It features elegant turned-down lugs for a more comfortable fit on a wide range of wrist sizes. The case is water resistant down to 30 ATM - 300 meters underwater. The large screwed down fluted crown is protected with solid flared crown guards and is located at the 3 o'clock position. The consecutively numbered caseback which features relief embossing of stylised coral, is also made of 316L stainless steel and is screwed-on in order to ensure its water resistance.

Thanks to a manual helium escape valve, a controlled equalisation of pressure inside the watch can be achieved when ascending to the ocean surface. Moreover, the valve at 10 o’clock has been technically optimised and is now clearly identifiable thanks to the helium symbol on the crown face.

The vibrant matte dial is protected by a scratch resistant sapphire glass crystal with an anti reflective coating to ensure that the dial can be easily read even under direct sunlight or deep underwater. There is a date window at the 3 o'clock position.

The Argonautic utilizes state-of-the-art Super-LumiNova BGW9 luminous pigments which ensure exceptional luminous properties. This material has been applied to the satin steel applied indexes on the dial as well as the skeletonised hands. Under natural light, this best-in-class luminous pigment appears white; in the dark it shines brightly and clearly in clear blue. The arrow-shaped second hand with color accent is also easily read in the dark thanks to a luminous dot of BGW09 Super-LumiNova.

The unidirectional 120 click rotating bezel is made of 316L stainless steel and boasts a high-tech scratch-resistant Beyond Steel® bezel insert which rises conically between the stainless steel bezel and inner glass rim. The luminous dot of BGW09 Super-LumiNova in the centre of the top triangle provides additional orientation.

DAVOSA‘s high-performance material, Beyond Steel®, has super-class material properties. It is as heavy as gold (density 19.3 g/cm³), is as hard as diamond and withstands the highest heat (melting point is 3,422 °C). Beyond Steel® is practically indestructible, absolutely resistant to chemical influences and free of rust and nickel. With a hardness four times that of titanium and twice that of steel, with Beyond Steel® Davosa has created the optimal material for bezel inlays.

The Argonautic is powered by a Swiss made DAV 3021 automatic movement which provides precision, reliability and a high level of performance. It has a power reserve of 38 hours and guarantees a very reliable and accurate timekeeping experience.

A matching stainless steel bracelet with safety clasp is supplied with the Argonautic. And thanks to the 'divers extension' integrated in the clasp, the Davosa Argonautic can be easily worn on top of a wetsuit.
