Originally issued to Canadian SAR (Search and Rescue) Techs in the early 2000's, the 41mm SAR-D marked the beginning of the Marathon SAR line. The watch famously featured a mil-spec Type I dial with cyclops date, designed with fully-lumed geometric hour markers providing quick legibility and maximum visibility under water or in dark environments.

The new Marathon OSAR-D (Original Search and Rescue with Date), building on the strengths of its predecessor, is re-engineered with upgraded MaraGlo illumination, larger indices, improved cyclops and a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with Incabloc® Shock Absorber.

It is water resistant down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater and is built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel. The rugged case, with solid flared crown guards, has a satin-brushed finish.

The matte black dial features fully lumed geometric hour markers providing quick legibility and maximum visibility under water or in dark environments. There is also a date window at the 3 o'clock position with cyclops magnification. The dial is protected with a scratch resistant flat sapphire glass crystal with an anti reflective coating to ensure that the dial can be easily read even under direct sunlight or deep underwater.

The Marathon OSAR-D uses Maraglo™ photo-luminescent paint to illuminate its hands and dial markers. Maraglo™ requires charging with an external light source and on the OSAR-D it will glow on its own for up to 5 hours after being exposed to light.

The extra thick 120-click uni-directional bezel features large grooves which enable it to be rotated under all conditions - even when wearing gloves underwater. Whilst the black anodized bezel insert is engraved with white 60-minute markings for clear visibility and has a MaraGlo luminous triangle pip at the 12 o’clock position. The deeply knurled screw-down crown is also adjustable with wet hands or when wearing gloves.

The Marathon OSAR-D Search and Rescue Dive Watch is handmade in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. The watch is powered by a Swiss made Sellita automatic movement with an Incabloc® shock absorber, guaranteeing a very reliable and accurate timekeeping experience.

The watch comes with a high quality and extremely comfortable FKM rubber strap or stainless steel bracelet.
