Marathon GPM Re-Issue Stainless Steel Field Watch
Description
The Marathon General Purpose Field Watch in Steel is a re-interpretation of the historic Marathon GG-W-113 field watch used throughout the 1980s by the US Army. It is built to Government specifications for use by military personnel, and is commonly known as the Officer’s Field Watch Mechanical (OFM) or Stainless Steel General Purpose Mechanical (GPM-SS).
The case is made from 316L surgical grade stainless steel with a sand-blasted graphite grey, non-reflective parkerized finish and has a water resistance of 5 ATM or 50 meters. The glass lens is made from sapphire crystal to provide ultimate scratch resistance, overall durability, and clarity of dial viewing, all essential factors for military personnel.
To assist in low light viewing, the dial uses tritium tubes for the hour indices as well as hour and minute hands. Tritium is a self-illuminating gas which will provide a 24/7 glow without the need for recharging.
The Marathon General Purpose Field Watch in Steel features a traditional Swiss wind-up Sellita SW210-1 mechanical movement with Incabloc Shock Absorber for accurate and reliable timekeeping.
Included with the Marathon General Purpose Field Watch is a one piece nylon military strap which is made in accordance with MIL-S-46383B Type II and provides comfort and durability while remaining lightweight. Extra nylon straps in various colours are also available to personalize your GPM.
It is a tough yet beautiful watch - packing features essential for military operations, such as a 24-hour dial, nylon strap, drilled lugs, hacking seconds and much more.
