The Marathon Search & Rescue Dive Watch combines Military toughness with Swiss craftsmanship.
The Marathon Search & Rescue (SAR) Dive Watch is built to ISO 6425 standards and manufactured in accordance with US Government MIL-SPEC specifications. Designed for use by Search and Rescue divers and issued to the United States Marine Corps, the Marathon Search & Rescue Dive Watch is a watch built to withstand the most extreme conditions.
It is water resistant down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the watch is a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you wherever you take it. The rugged case, with solid flared crown guards, comes in either a satin-brushed finish or a black anodized sandblasted finish.
The matte black dial has additional military style 24-hour markings. The JDD and CSAR models have a bilingual Day/Date window at the 3 o'clock position and all other models have a date window at the 4:30 position. The dial is protected with a scratch resistant sapphire glass crystal with an anti reflective coating to ensure that the dial can be read even under direct sunlight or deep underwater.
The extra thick 120-click uni-directional bezel features large grooves which enable it to be rotated under all conditions - even when wearing gloves underwater. Whilst the black anodized bezel insert is engraved with white 60-minute markings for clear visibility and has a MaraGlo luminous triangle pip at the 12 o’clock position. The deeply knurled screwdown crown is also adjustable with wet hands or when wearing gloves.
The Marathon Search & Rescue Dive Watch is handmade in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. The watch is powered by either a Swiss made automatic movement or a Swiss made high torque Quartz movement, guaranteeing a very reliable and accurate timekeeping experience.
All variants, with the exception of the JSAR model, use self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations. A gas tube is placed on each hour marker and each syringe-style hand. MaraGlo luminescence is used for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photo-luminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.
The JSAR model uses MaraGlo photo-luminescent paint to illuminate its hands and dial markers. MaraGlo requires charging with an external light source and on the JSAR it will glow on its own for up to 8 hours after being exposed to light.
The watch comes with a high quality and extremely comfortable vulcanized rubber strap with the Marathon emblem etched into one of the keepers.
The Marathon Search & Rescue Dive Watch combines Military toughness with Swiss craftsmanship in a watch that will get the job done, and look good doing it.
